The number of children under 15 who were prescribed anti-psychotic medication increased by 25 per cent last year.
1,457 received the drugs under the medical card scheme in 2020 - nearly 300 more than the previous year.
2020 figures show 502 children were under the age of 11, while 955 were aged between 12 and 15.
