Wicklow Housing Growth Remains Strong

The latest Department of Housing figures reveal almost one thousand new homes were commenced throughout Wicklow in the first seven months of this year.

Construction on almost 1,000 new homes in Wicklow has started in the first seven months of this year.

Department of Housing figures show 956 homes were commenced in the county 

A fourfold increase on the 170 homes commenced during the same period last year.

More than two-thirds are scheme homes, with 179 apartments and 94 one-off houses also included.

Almost 19,000 new homes were commenced nationwide.

Housing Minister James Browne says the figures show strong momentum, but the real measure will be homes completed with keys handed over.
