People Urged To Stick With Guidelines, With Little Change In Coronavirus Figures Here

The acting chief medical officer's pleading with the public to make 'difficult decisions' to prevent Covid-19 deaths this winter.

Dr Ronan Glynn says the health guidelines are clear and  people shouldn't even meet family members, or go to work or college, if they're a close contact of a case.

Monaghan has seen a 260 percent increase in its 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 people in the past week.

While Roscommon is now on 99.

They were the two counties along with Cork and Galway which are on the watchlist for NPHET.

Cork meanwhile has seen it's 14-day rate more than double in the past seven days.

The Health Minister has said health officials will look at comparing the 14-day rate and the 7-day rate of incidence to see if the situation is improving.

However there isn't any sign of an improvement in Donegal and Dublin, which are already in Level 3 restrictions.

While in the four counties which are being watched, the disease has grown quicker over the past week than in the overall 14-day rate.
