Irish Water has confirmed there were no excess levels of pesticides in public drinking water supplies in County Wicklow over the past two years.
However, the utility is urging domestic gardeners, farmers and other users of pesticide products to consider the environment and whether their use is necessary.
While they’re not considered a risk to public health, recent sample results for Ireland have shown a number of active substances in herbicide products used in agriculture and gardens are being regularly detected.
