New Digital Hub In Laragh Officially Opened.

A new Digital Hub was officially opened at the Brockagh Centre in Laragh last Thursday evening.

Chairperson Cormac O’Sullivan said that the new hub is another cog in the ever-turning wheel at the Brockagh Centre, and that no one could ever have imagined 21 years ago that the centre itself would go from strength to strength the way it has.

Speaking at the opening, Manager of the Brockagh Centre, Storm Pyper, said:

“The Brockagh Centre is very proud to announce the launch of its remote working Digital Hub. Nestled in the scenic village of Laragh with stunning views of the Glendalough Valley, the Brockagh Hub will provide the local and wider community a place to work remotely.

"Since taking over as Manager of the Brockagh Centre in March of this year, my main focus has been the completion and launch of our remote working digital hub. Our hub will officially open for business on Monday May 30th. We have daily, weekly and monthly rates available, so whether you are a sole trader or working for a larger organisation we have a desk to suit all needs. The centre provides high speed broadband, as well as desks in a shared space with various meeting rooms available to suit all business needs.

"The Brockagh Centre has been in operation for 21 years now and we believe our new hub will add another successful string to our bow. Our hub's mission is to meet the diverse needs of professionals living throughout the local and wider Wicklow area, and we are excited to finally open our hub's door.”

Senator Pat Casey performed the honour of officially opening the centre, saying; ”I am proud to open the new Digital Hub, as it was 21 years ago when the Centre first opened and I would like to remember the people who are no longer with us, who believed and worked hard to make the Centre the success it has been. It is our duty to carry on the great work into the future with this state of the art hub, we have a great team here who are very proud of the Centre.

"It’s open to anyone from Wicklow or south Dublin. The Brockagh Centre is very centrally based in Laragh, so we have a good catchment area. For people who are working remotely, especially if they have issues with their connectivity, individuals can rent desks, or companies can so their staff can just walk in and start working.

"The Centre would also be ideal for anyone involved in the film industry who need fast upload speeds when filming locally, or creative people in the county who need to upload without any delays.”
