Wicklow Minister Simon Harris has called for an audit of car parking facilities at Wicklow’s most popular visitor locations.
The call comes after the County Council failed to secure the land for sale adjacent to Magheramore beach.
The 20 acres of cliff top land overlooking the beach sold for €700,000 at online auction last Friday, more than three times the asking price of €210,000.
Congestion and bad parking has posed a danger to residents in recent weeks and Minister Harris says he hopes the Wicklow Visitor Masterplan currently under development will present proposals to help address the problem.
