Greystones Family Resource Centre Awarded €10k Under Capital Funding

Greystones Family Resource Centre has been awarded €10,000 in one-off capital funding as part of a nationwide Government scheme.

The allocation is one of 136 identical €10,000 grants, making up a €1.36 million capital fund for Family Resource Centres across Ireland.

Centres can use the funding for minor building works and refurbishment, accessibility and safety upgrades, security improvements, furniture and fittings, equipment, ICT and digital infrastructure, or energy-efficiency measures.

Harris: “Investing in early intervention and community”

Tanaiste, Wicklow TD and Minister for Finance Simon Harris said the centre is has been a vital support for families in Greystones, Delgany, Kilcoole, Newcastle and Newtown Mount Kennedy for more than two decades.

He highlighted the centre’s role in helping parents, young people and older residents, and said the grant would “go a long way” in supporting its work.

Harris also noted that Budget 2026 lifted minimum core funding for each centre from €160,000 to €180,000, and that ten new centres were established this year, bringing the national network to 136.

The Family Resource Centre Programme is run by Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, with centres delivering a wide range of universal and targeted supports, including family support, counselling, education and training, advocacy, youth and community groups, and practical assistance for individuals and families.

Announcing the funding, Tánaiste Simon Harris TD said:

“Greystones Family Resource Centre is a hugely important part of the community and has been doing incredible work for for more than twenty years.

Many families have been able to use the centre when things get difficult, whether that is a parent looking for support, a young person who needs somewhere to go, an older neighbour looking for company and so much more.

“I am delighted to announce today’s funding for the centre today which will go a long way in helping deliver some of Greystones Faily Resource Centre’s important work and I will continue working to deliver key government funding to deliver for our community.''
