DART services were hit by serious “delays and disruption” last night as a number of passengers were forced to walk along railway lines in darkness back to a train station after a train malfunction.The passengers had been stuck on a train between Shankill and Bray 

Iarnród Éireann has confirmed that services were suspended between Dalkey and Greystones.Southbound DART services  terminatied at Dalkey, while trains travelling northbound are starting from Dalkey.Minister Simon Harris said the incident was “unacceptable and dangerous”."Really worrying to read about this . It is unacceptable & dangerous for passengers & staff, who had to walk from Shankill to Bray.

Irish Rail must carry out a full investigation so this does not happen again. Answers are urgently needed,” Minister Harris said.A number of passengers were stuck on a train that had stopped between Shankill and Bray DART stations."Southbound services were suspended between Dalkey and Bray due to an overhead power line issue in Killiney.

Knock-on delays to Northbound services are expected,” Iarnród Éireann said in a statement online.
