A Wicklow TD has called on Wicklow County Council to provide land for allotments in Blessington.
Sinn Fein’s John Brady made the call following a meeting with representatives from the Blessington Allotments Campaign group.
A number of possible locations owned by the County Council and another State Body were identified as potential spaces for allotments. 40 members of the Blessington community have registered their interest with the group since they started their campaign in 2018.
Brady said that there was a clear demand for allotments in the area and believed the council should be working with communities to have least one in each of the Municipal District.
