Stephen Stokes has been co-opted on to Wicklow County Council.
Stephen Stokes has been co-opted on to Wicklow County Council to represent the Greystones Municipal District. Stephen previously served on Greystones Town Council from 2009-14. He also served as Mayor of Greystones from 2013-14.
The vacancy arose when Dr. Mags Crean stepped down from Wicklow County Council. Cllr Stephen Stokes stated: 'Mags was an amazing worker for the Greystones Municipal District. Her integrity and work ethic is second to none. Mags has left big shoes to fill'.
Cllr. Stokes stated that some of his priorities include infrastructure, public transport, tourism and housing. At his first meeting of Wicklow County Council, Cllr. Stokes pressed for the re-opening of the Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk ahead of the peak summer season.
Hugely honoured to have been co-opted on to @wicklowcoco to represent the #Greystones Municipal District as a Councillor. Special thanks to Dr. Mags Crean for her wonderful service. Looking forward to the challenge ahead. #Wicklow #Ireland pic.twitter.com/smab7oIZnx
