Five primary schools in County Wicklow have been approved for funding for additional accommodation by the Department of Education and Skills.
East Glendalough School, Carnew National School, Dominican College in Wicklow Town and St Michaels and St Peters Junior School in Arklow and Marino National School in Bray will benefit from the works.
An additional nine schools in the garden county have been approved for emergency works including Wicklow Educate Together National School, Realt Na Mara in Brittas Bay and Coolfancy in Tinahely.
