Wicklow Sailing Club has put the start of the 2020 Round Ireland Yacht Race back by two months, in response to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The race which takes place every two years, attracts competitors from around the world and is organised by Wicklow Sailing Club in association with the Royal Irish Yacht Club and Royal Ocean Racing Club.
In a tweet by management at the weekend, the 704 nautical mile race, which was due get underway on the 20th of June, is now pencilled in to set off on Saturday the 22nd August, subject to government guidelines.
