Met Éireann has expanded a status yellow weather warning that begins on Thursday evening.
It concerns 13 counties from the south-west extending across to the east coast.
Persistent and sometimes heavy rain is expected from 6 o'clock tomorrow evening until the same time on Friday.
Met Éireann says these downpours may lead to localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.
