Wicklow has recorded the highest average house prices after Dublin, despite construction continuing apace.
According to the latest GeoDirectory Residential Buildings Report, Dublin recorded the highest average house price (€542,240), followed by Wicklow (€482,171), as the national average house price rose 4.3pc to €381,749 in the 12 months to May 2024.
Average house prices increased across 25 of the 26 counties, with Monaghan being the exception. A total of 51,935 housing commencements were recorded nationally during the same period, representing an increase of 86.4pc or 24,080 units, with 1,974 residential commencements recorded in Wicklow.
