Gardai investigating an assault in County Carlow have arrested a man and seized a quantity of drugs.
Officers were called to the scene at a house in Tullow at around 3 o'clock on Monday morning where they found a man with apparent stab wounds.
The 33 year old was brought to St. Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny where his condition is described as serious but stable.
A house in Tullow was searched during a follow up operation yesterday and a man in his 20's was arrested in connection with the alleged assault. A large quantity of cocaine with a street value of €490,000 was also discovered inside the house.
The man is now being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, at Carlow Garda Station.
