Fire crews from Greystones and Bray attended a field on fire near Charlesland this afternoon.
The fire is now out and damping down operations are continuing.
There are no reports of any injuries.
Chief Fire Officer, Aiden Dempsey, was at the scene:
"Crews from Greystones and Bray fought the fire in a field which included eight round bales. We were helped by staff from Cairn Homes building site who brought a water tanker and an excavator, which was really useful. There had been a number of fires in the area recently, including in the derelict clubhouse. The public are being requested to avoid using BBQ's and fires and to be vigilant of anyone intentionally setting fires in the area."
An orange-level fire warning for the entire country is currently in place.
