The Department of Education has confirmed construction work on a modular building for Greystones Community College is now underway.
16 classrooms are due to be ready for use in August, but parents have raised concerns about the timeline for the delivery of the new building.
Department officials have agreed to meet with the principals of the Community College and the local Community National School on a weekly basis, to update them on the progress going forward.
Wicklow Minister Simon Harris has welcomed the move, and says he expects the building for the Community National School will be fit for occupation subject to a controlled fire test on the 14th of June.
