Motorists in Wicklow and surrounding counties are being urged to exercise care today.
A yellow rainfall warning which came into force at 2 o’clock this morning affecting 14 counties including the garden county, will continue until 7am on Tuesday.
Met Eireann says heavy rain could lead to localised flooding in places.
The status yellow warning is in effect for all of Munster, as well as Wicklow Carlow, Kildare, Wexford, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly and Galway.
