Uisce Éireann is commencing works on a project to overhaul the water supply in Dunlavin.
The project represents a €9 million investment in improving water supply security and resilience for homes and businesses in Dunlavin.
It involves the construction of 7.3 kilometres of watermain, serving Dunlavin with a piped drinking water supply from the Greater Dublin Area supply zone.
The new pipeline will be constructed along the R412 between Dunlavin village and Brannockstown, Co. Kildare.
When complete, the Dunlavin Water Supply Rationalisation Project will address current supply challenges for existing customers and provide the required capacity to allow new development in the area.
Construction of the new watermain will commence in Dunlavin village in late January. Works along the R412 from Dunlavin to Brannockstown are planned to begin in March 2025.
To facilitate the safe delivery of works, local traffic management will be in place during the phased construction.
Completion of the project is expected by the end of the year.
