A woman has died after getting into difficulty while swimming in the sea at Greystones, on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services attended the North Beach in Greystones, following reports that 3 swimmers were in trouble.
The three women, aged in their fifties, were taken from the water, but one woman was pronounced dead at the scene, her body has since been moved to the mortuary at Loughlinstown Hospital where a post-mortem will take place in the coming days.
The Coast Guard Rescue 116 helicopter, the Greystones Coast Guard Unit, and Dún Laoghaire RNLI were all tasked in the response on Saturday afternoon.
A second woman was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Dublin. The third woman was treated at the scene by the emergency services.
