Wicklow TD Jennifer Whitmore has called on the Government to provide an update on the development of the €300m Greystones Media campus, following concerns locally that plans for what would become Ireland’s largest film and TV studio complex has all but stalled.Deputy Whitmore raised the issue in the Dáil on Wednesday, when she asked the Taoiseach for an update on the project during Questions on Promised Legislation. She was told that an update in writing from the Minister for Finance would be forthcoming."Today in the chamber, I asked the Taoiseach about the Greystones media campus,” Deputy Whitmore said. “This €300m project will be Ireland's largest production facility. It is a joint venture between John Sisk & Son Ltd and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund, ISIF."This was a welcome development for Greystones, however, there have been delays in the delivery of the campus, which is a cause for concern for locals in Greystones."The first phase of the campus was to open in 2024,” she explained. “The diggers were on site and cleared a few trees, but there has been no activity there for at least nine months."I want an update on the project and when we can expect it to open. I have also asked if it can be outlined what kind of safeguards the ISIF has put in place to ensure that the development will happen when it is due to do so.
