The Texaco Fund Launched in Greystones.
Greystones helped launch the sixth Texaco Support for Sport initiative this week. Sports clubs from Co. Wicklow and beyond are invited to apply, with €5,000 up for grabs in every county.
A fund of €130,000 will be divided equally to a successful applicant in each of the twenty-six counties.
Wicklow's track record
Wicklow has done well out of the scheme to date. Five county clubs have already shared in the fund:
- Roundwood & District Athletic Club (2021)
- Valleymount LGFA Club (2022)
- Wicklow Archers Archery Club (2023)
- Blessington GAA Club (2024)
- Greystones Bowling Club (2025)
Open to every club
The initiative is open to all sports clubs, regardless of discipline, size, membership, or age. Clubs that were unsuccessful in a previous application are welcome to apply again.
The scheme aims to recognise and support the valuable contribution sports clubs make to communities and throughout Irish society.
Launching the 2026 initiative, James Twohig, Director of Ireland Operations at Valero Energy (Ireland) Limited, sports clubs as "an integral part of communities across Ireland, where people of all ages can enjoy the many physical, social and personal benefits that sport brings."

How to apply
The process follows the same lines as past years. Clubs should first register their interest at www.TexacoSupportforSport.com then submit a completed application. The closing date for applications is 21st January 2027, with adjudication taking place afterwards.
