Bray Four-Piece Florence Road Grateful For Eddie Vedder's Act Of Kindness

Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder lends Wicklow band Florence Road his guitars after gear stolen in LA

Bray band Florence Road have thanked Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder after he stepped in to help when all of their gear was stolen from their van in Los Angeles.

The Wicklow four-piece, made up of Lily Aron, Emma Brandon, Ailbhe Barry and Hannah Kelly, were due to play California's Ohana Festival at the weekend. On Saturday, they announced on Instagram that they would have to pull out.

"We're absolutely devastated to say that we won't be able to play our set at Ohana Festival today," the band wrote.

They said their guitars, pedal boards and everything else they needed to perform had been taken from the van the night before.

But the story had a happy twist. The band later confirmed the show was going ahead after all, after Vedder insisted on loaning them his own guitars as soon as he heard what had happened.

Florence Road described the Pearl Jam singer as "a true gentleman" and shared a photo of him with the band. They also thanked the festival team and Fender guitars for their help.

"What an insane 48 hours! We couldn't be more grateful to Eddie Vedder and the whole team at Ohana Festival," they said. "It does take a village!"

Vedder founded the annual Ohana Festival in 2016.

He headlined on Sunday and also joined several other acts on stage as a guest over the weekend.
