Wicklow Man Jailed After Prolonged Assault On Former Partner At Blessington Home

A Wicklow man has been jailed for seven years after assaulting his former partner at her home.

Alan McEvoy with an address in Valleymount attacked Anna Oberska at her home in Blessington on the 21st of May 2016, during an ordeal that lasted 19 hours. 

Her hands had been tied behind her back with cable ties during the prolonged assault.

Ms Oberska who is a dental nurse, had been in a three year relationship with Mr McEvoy which ended 16 months earlier. In a victim impact statement,

She said the horror ordeal had ruined her life. He was sentenced by Judge Martina Baxter following a sitting of Wicklow Circuit Court earlier this afternoon.
