After several years of growth, the county's property market is beginning to cool
House prices in Wicklow have largely plateaued over the past year as more homes become available for sale, according to the latest Daft.ie Sales Report.
The report suggests that after several years of strong growth, the county's property market is beginning to cool, with increased supply helping to curb price inflation.
Economist Dr Ronan Lyons said the latest figures point to a significant shift in market conditions.
"In the second quarter of the year, prices in Wicklow were largely unchanged compared to a year ago.
"With increased second-hand supply and indeed increased new-build supply over the last year, some of the pressure has been taken off.
"In fact, prices were slightly down, 0.1% down in the second quarter of 2026 compared to a year before."
Despite the stabilisation, Wicklow remains one of the most expensive counties in Ireland outside Dublin.
The average asking price of a four-bedroom detached home now stands at €705,000, while a three-bedroom semi-detached property costs €484,000.

The figures reveal a mixed market. While overall prices have levelled off, demand remains particularly strong for smaller homes and apartments.
The biggest increase was recorded among two-bedroom detached homes, where prices surged by 26.5 per cent over the past year. Three-bedroom apartments also experienced strong growth, rising by 14 per cent to an average asking price of €502,000.
By contrast, larger detached properties saw values fall. Four-bedroom detached homes declined by 1.9 per cent, while five-bedroom detached properties dropped by 6.1 per cent.

The report suggests that increased supply is beginning to rebalance the market. More second-hand homes and new developments have come on stream over the past year, providing buyers with greater choice and reducing the intense competition that characterised the market in recent years.
However, affordability remains a major challenge. With the median price of a newly-built home now standing at €475,000 and the average family home costing well in excess of half a million euro, Wicklow continues to rank among Ireland's most expensive housing markets.
While the latest figures indicate that rapid house-price inflation may be easing, the county remains firmly a seller's market, with property values still significantly above national averages.
