Wicklow native Alan J. Duffy wins gong for his design of the Flinders University Health and Medical Research Building
A Wicklow born architect has received one of Australia's most prestigious prizes for designing a university research facility in Adelaide.
The State Medal was awarded to Alan J. Duffy for his concept and design of Flinders University Health and Medical Research Building.
Mr Duffy’s project was also awarded accolades for Education Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Sustainable Architecture.
Mr Duffy is principal architect at Adelaide-based firm Architectus. He won an all-Ireland gold medal for art at St Kevin’s CBS in Arklow.
He said:
“Winning these awards is a proud moment. I’m honoured to represent Irish architectural talent on the world stage”.
