Netflix has released the first look at the upcoming Vikings spin-off which was filmed across County Wicklow. Vikings Valhalla releases on the streaming service on 25 February and is set to explore a new generation of legendary Vikings. Following on a couple of hundred years after the original series, this spin-off will be based in the early 11th century, as the characters battle and fight for survival in a world that is constantly challenging their skills. The series was filmed on location at Ashford Studios in Wicklow, and wrapped filming in January of last year. Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland revealed today that a record €500 million was spent in 2021 in the Irish economy across film, television drama, documentary and animation production.
