The project represents a €9 million investment in improving water supply security and resilience for homes and businesses in Dunlavin.
When complete, the Dunlavin Water Supply Rationalisation Project will address current supply challenges for existing customers and provide the required capacity to allow new development in the area.
Water main installation works have been completed between St Kevin’s Community College and Dunlavin Soccer Club and are ongoing at Market Square in Dunlavin village.
To facilitate the next phase of pipelaying between Dunlavin village and Brannockstown, Wicklow and Kildare County Councils have granted a 24-hour road closure of the R142, from its junction with R756 at Dunlavin, to its junction with R413 for Ballymore Eustace at Brannockstown.
It is anticipated that this road closure will be in place from Monday, 24 March 2025 for a period of approximately 4 months.
The works may involve some short-term water supply interruptions and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to any planned water interruptions.
Uisce Éireann has also launched a free text service, providing real-time updates for local issues. Customers can sign up with their Eircode and mobile number at water.ie.
