Three men have been charged with drug offences after searches by Gardaí in West Wicklow resulted in the seizure of quantities of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis.The three males, who will later appear at the District Court, were arrested and detained at Baltinglass Garda Station after Gardaí from the Baltinglass District, supported by the Wicklow Divisional Drug Unit and Revenue Customs, carried out warranted searches as part of Operation Tara.An Garda Síochána’s national anti-drugs strategy, Operation Tara focuses on tackling street-level dealing in cities, towns and villages across the county, aiming to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs. “Gardaí from the Baltinglass District supported by the Wicklow Divisional Drug Unit and Revenue Customs conducted a number of searches under warrant in the District recently.“These searches resulted in a quantity of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis being seized.“Three males were arrested and detained at Baltinglass Garda Station. All three were later charged in relation to Drug Offences and will appear at the District Court.”
