This morning, Taoiseach Simon Harris has turned the sod on Kilcoole Primary Schools new extension and new school building.
Speaking today, the Taoiseach said, “This morning I am delighted to turn the sod on Kilcoole Primary School’s New Build.”
“This project, which consists of a new twelve classroom school building, plus a four-classroom extension to the existing St. Anthony building, will have a huge impact in enabling Kilcoole Primary School to keep delivering a high-quality education for the children in our community.”
“Having worked on this project with the school principal and school community for some time, I was thrilled when we secured approval to proceed to construction at the end of August.”
“Today marks even further progress for the seventeen major school projects across County Wicklow. With the large-scale projects ongoing in Greystones, I committed to ensuring that Kilcoole would not be left behind, and turning the sod today marks another step towards honouring that commitment.”
“Naturally I also want to thank Kilcoole Primary School’s Principal Joanne McDonagh, along with all the rest of her team and the many local parents who have been in touch with me on getting this fantastic facility over the line.”
The Taoiseach concluded, “Like everyone else in Kilcoole, I will be watching this site very closely to ensure that we can cut the ribbon and open this new build and new extension as soon as possible.”
