Counting has concluded for the Seanad's five vocational panels, which make up 43 of the 60 seats.
The final 11 will be announced by Taoiseach Micheál Martin later in the week.
Aubrey McCarthy, the founder of the charity Tiglin has been elected on the Trinity panel after Green Party candidate Hazel Chu requested a recount.
Aubrey took to social media to post a video shortly after his election to thank those that supported him throughout his campaign.
“It’s been a long day after the count,” he began, “And I was absolutely delighted to take the final Trinity seat in the Seanad election. It’s been an honour for me to receive your votes and I hope to represent you well.”
“I also want to be a voice for the homeless in our society,” he said, before gesturing towards the building behind him, “many of whom are behind me here in The Lighthouse. I’m going to advocate for all of you, to the very best of my ability. Thank you so much, everybody, for your support.”
