During this time pedestrian diversions will be in place.
Plans have been announced to repair the ramp access to the North Beach in Greystones. The repair work is expected to be carried out from December 4th to December 8th, with a planned re-opening on the evening of December 8th.
Councillor for Greystones Stokes stated:
"This is good news. I have been pressing for this work, and raised North Beach coastal erosion at the full meeting of Wicklow County Council. Protecting the North Beach is vital.
"The coastal erosion seems to have accelerated in recent years. A recent study of coastal erosion in Ireland talked about managed retreats. This is simply not an option for our area. Protecting the North Beach is vital for the train line, cliff walk, residential areas and more. Beach nourishment is one part of a strategy that should be implemented."
The immediate ramp repair work is to be carried out by Sensori FM on behalf of Sispar Limited. During this time pedestrian diversions will be in place.
