A Planning application has been submitted for a major new 150 million Euro film studio and media campus in Greystones.
Greystones Media Campus Limited put forwarded the plans for a State-of-the-art facility, which they say could create up to 1,200 jobs.
The development could also in turn lead to, in the region of up to 300 full time positions in other sectors of the Irish economy through knock-on impacts.
A further 580 jobs could be created during the construction phase.
The proposed facility on 18-hectares of IDA owned land at Killincarrig in Greystones, includes 14 studios, offices and ancillary production buildings.
Under the Greystones-Delgany and Kilcoole Local Area Plan 2013 to 2019, the site had previously been prioritised for “the development of high-density people-based employment”.
The audio-visual sector is currently worth over €1 billion to the Irish economy, with 12,000 people employed in film, television and animation production.
