More product lines added to latest recall of salad leaves by the FSAI
Salads are an easy staple over the Summer months but one to eat with caution right now.
We're being warned not to eat certain salad products, after Listeria was detected.
Nine product lines of salad leaves have now been recalled by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
They're produced by McCormack Family Farms, and also include bags of spinach branded for Tesco, SuperValu and Egan's.
Last week, more than 200-product lines of ready meals by a different manufacturer were recalled after Listeria was detected.
The affected products are listed on the FSAI website with two more added this afternoon (Monday 28th July)
Symptoms of Listeria infection can include:
- Mild flu-like symptoms
- Gastrointestinal symptoms - nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
NOTE: Pregnant women, babies, and those with weakened immune systems, including the elderly are more vulnerable to Listeria infections. Contact your GP or a medic if you are unwell.
In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications.
