The Taoiseach is continuing to face criticism over his comment in the Dail yesterday that the banks were never bailed out.
Micheál Martin said shareholders were never bailed out and the state took equity in the banks involved.
He was responding to questions about why money could be given to banks and not Debenhams workers.
His comments sparked surprise even within his own party. Opposition parties say he is trying to re-write history and he is now facing calls to rectify the records of the Dail.
