Investigations are continuing into an assault at a large gathering in south Dublin early on Sunday, in which a man in his early 20’s sustained serious injuries.
The incident occurred just before 2 o’clock in O’Rourke Park in Sallynoggin.
Gardaí were called and found the victim at the scene with serious injuries. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.
According to the Irish Times, another male, also in his early 20s, was arrested at the scene and was detained at Dun laoghaire Garda station.
Reports say there were a large number of gatherings and house parties throughout Dublin on Saturday night, several of which were broken up by gardaí under public order and Covid-19 legislation.
