The detailed study is a first comprehensive overview of related trends, locations, causes, and population recoveries, over the 53-year period.
Wicklow logged 82 incidents - the 7th highest in Ireland.
Fish Kills in Ireland-History, Current Status, and Recovery revealed the most common known cause of fish deaths was agriculture, followed by eutrophication, industrial, municipal, mining, construction, and other activities.
Separately, Inland Fisheries Ireland are urging you to report any signs of fish kills to them straight away.
Investigations are continuing a month after approximately 2,000 fish were killed in the Aughrim River.
