The Health Service Executive is being urged to implement immediate measures to ensure that people in South Wicklow can access GP services.
Wicklow Sinn Féin TD John Brady says under the current arrangement, patients in the Carnew, Tinahely and Shillelagh areas of South Wicklow are being forced to wait several weeks in order to secure an appointment with the GP located in the Primary Health Centre in Carnew.
Deputy Brady says it appears that the practise is only open for a few hours each week.
He has raised the concerns with the HSE who say they will investigate the issue.
