The report finds the increase in home working is driving higher interest and prices in regions.
The SCSI also says lack of supply is a major issue, with most chartered agents reporting low levels of stocks.
It says issues around housing supply and demand may not be resolved until 2031.
The Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland is calling on the government to start a major house building programme to address the issues.
