Hairdressers Outline Proposals For Early Reopening

They say with certain measures in place, they could safely reopen during Phase 3.

Guidelines from the Irish Hairdressers Federations say with PPE for stylists and customers, and Covid 19 training for staff, they can reopen in three weeks time on June 29th, instead of July 20th.

Work stations being fully sanitised after each appointment and customers phone numbers being recorded for contact tracing are among a list of 100 recommendations.

Customers will be screened when making their booking, and the salon visit will be a different experience with a staple of a salon visit – a magazine – no longer provided.

The federation says it prepared the guidelines following engagement with the HSE and the Health and Safety Authority.
