Cllr Stephen Stokes expressed concern that County Wicklow will receive only two new Gardaí, with none allocated to Greystones.
Fears are growing about a lack of additional garda resources in north Wicklow.
Of the 154 additional gardaí allocated this week to various locations around the country only two were posted to Wicklow raising concerns for local representatives.
The new pair are due to be stationed in Wicklow town and Bray. Greystones is one such area which is crying out for new recruits according to local councillor Stephen Stokes.
Cllr Stokes says resources are very stretched as he urged the Government to make policing in the county a clear priority.
''I am concerned at the low provision of gardai. In fact Greystones was completely overlooked again despite large population growth in the area.
''If you are working in a job where you are constantly understaffed it is going to affect morale in the company.
''That is why we need decisive investment in garda numbers to bring forward new people and ensure we retain our current personnel.''
