A man in his 40s is in a serious condition in hospital after sustaining serious injuries in an assault in Arklow on Monday afternoon.
The injured man was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital “for treatment of serious injuries”.
Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s in relation to the incident, with investigations ongoing.
Gardaí responded to the incident at around 4.20pm at an unspecified location. A technical examination has been completed.
The incident follows another recent assault in Arklow. Just over a week ago a man was injured in an incident at an address in Ferrybank on June 28, which led to a man in his 50s being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.
