The future of the DUP's involvement in power-sharing at Stormont could be decided at a special meeting of the party's executive later.
It's expected to see party officers given the authority to decide on its continued involvement in the devolved government.
DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson recently threatened to pull the party out of power-sharing by November over the Brexit protocol.
It comes as President Michael D Higgins says he isn't in a position to attend a church service to commemorate the centenary of Northern Ireland, with some DUP members asking him to reconsider.
