It happened at Kilshane Cross in Newtown at around 7.20 yesterday morning.
A man in his 40s was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown following the collision, where he was pronounced dead yesterday evening.
An examination of the scene has been completed, while anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area at the time is being asked to contact Gardaí.
