Cllr Aoife Flynn-Kennedy has been elected the new Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council for the next 12 months.
The annual election for the positions of Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach for Wicklow County Council took place at the Annual Meeting held on Monday last (19th June) at County Buildings.
In her acceptance speech, Cllr Aoife Flynn-Kennedy, stated: “I’d like to thank the Elected Members for their support in electing me to the position of Cathaoirleach for the coming year. It is an honour and a privilege to represent the County and humbling to be elected to this role. I will work hard over the coming 12 months to represent the elected members of this Council and the people of County Wicklow to ensure Wicklow as a county continues to develop and reach its potential’.
Cllr Gail Dunne was elected as Leas-Cathaoirleach for Wicklow County Council. He said: “I am honoured to be elected Leas-Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council and I thank my colleagues for nominating me to this role.”
