Seven people were hospitalised after armed gardai were called to violence in a Galway cemetery yesterday.
About 30 officers responded to the incident in Tuam at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested at the scene, as he tried to flee in possession of a knife. Five men and two women were brought to University Hospital Galway, with non life-threatening injuries.
Local councillor Joe Sheridan says the fight broke out after two separate funerals crossed paths but it's not the first time this type of incident has happened.
