A Wicklow TD has expressed disappointment that an application for 115,000 euro in funding to reinstate the Coastal Walk at North Beach in Arklow has been turned down by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The popular walk was destroyed during Storm Ophelia in 2017.
In January 2018 Junior Minister Kevin Boxer Moran visited the town to see the damage first hand.
Sinn Fein’s John Brady says funding is crucial as any upgrade of the coastal protection scheme will take a number of years to complete.
