A development site in Wicklow Town, which includes the Former Bay View Hotel, went under the hammer yesterday for just over €900,000.
The full site includes the former hotel and two retail units on the main street, as well a car park and four houses on high street.
BidX1, who specialise in online property sales, opened bidding on the property at €750,000, which led to a 30-minute bidding war which culminated in the property selling for €903,000 – more than €150,000 above the guide price.
