Producers across Wicklow are invited to take part in Blas na hÉireann 2026.
The Irish Food Awards celebrate quality food and drink and offer a national platform to showcase products.
The 2025 competition brought in over 3,000 entries. Eight Co. Wicklow food producers won prestigious awards last year, with O'Hanlon Herbs earning the 'Best in County' title supported by Wicklow Local Enterprise Office.
Other 2025 winners included county success for butter, cream, and foraged berries. Previous winners and mentions include:
- Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese - Noted for their 'Wicklow Blue' in 2025.
- Ballyhubbock Farm Past winners.
- Firehouse Bakery (Delgany): Past Gold winner.
Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr. Melanie Corrigan said:
It is fantastic to see Wicklow producers given the opportunity to showcase their products on a national stage. The county has a strong tradition of high-quality food production, and initiatives such as Blas na hÉireann provide a valuable platform to celebrate that excellence while supporting local enterprise and economic growth.
The 2026 competition is open for entries from local producers, with a closing date of May 14th. Judging is conducted through a blind tasting process. Finalists will be announced in mid-August.
The awards return to the Blas na hÉireann festival in Dingle from October 1st to 4th this year, with the ceremony taking place on Friday 2nd October.
