The Wicklow RNLI inshore Lifeboat is being praised for coming to the assistance of a pet owner, who’s dog “Otis” went missing after chasing seagulls at the cliff edge at Wicklow head, late yesterday afternoon.
The crew launched at around twenty to five and began a sweep of caves and the shoreline at a location known as the Pond, near Wicklow Head lighthouse.
The dog could be heard barking from a cave and crew member John Stapleton was put ashore and with some persuading, the dog climbed back up the cliff and to his grateful owner.
